Allen and Heath Xone:4D

Het eerste wat in mij op kwam toen ik op de website van Skratchworx het bericht las over de Xone:4d is "hoe is het mogelijk dat het ding al in verscheidene shops staat en de grote nieuws sites het nu pas door hebben?". Er is een verklaring voor, A&H heeft naar zijn UK dealers de informatie verspreid maar is ons schijnbaar vergeten. Maar de Xone:4D is dus in aantocht en het beste nieuws... Traktor Scratch certified, althans in de voorlopige gelekte specs.

Heel veel info is er niet dus men zal het moeten doen met dit kleine beetje informatie wat we hebben. Op internet kwam ik al wel prijzen tegen maar vooralsnog lijkt er geen vast gestelde prijs te zijn. Wat wel vast staat is dat de Xone:4D net even iets meer dj gericht zal zijn dan de Xone:3D. Daarnaast is het opvallend dat de Xone:4D over een USB geluidskaart beschikt en dat alle huidige Traktor Scratch certified mixers beschikken over een firewire geluidskaart.

The xone:4D will do everything that the 3D could do, and more. It enables DJs to greatly extend the capability of their digital setup,for example running 4 simultaneous decks in Native Instruments Traktor 3, or by being able to achieve genuine multi-track recording of their sets in applications such as Ableton Live or ProTools. The Xone4D should soon be given Traktor Scratch approval by Native Instruments, enabling full compatibility with their encoded vinyl system.

Of course, the most noticeable visible element about the xone4D is the new style. Allen & Heath have developed it in response to many people’s requests for panels which are easier to read in low light (all the white screening is in Ultra Violet sensitive paint, which glows when exposed to UV light), and for the Xone design to become more stylish and representative of contemporary design.
