Mixxx - Multi platform dj software

Mixxx logoVroeger... toen djDecks nog gewoon djDecks was en het voor 35 euro te koop was gebruikten veel mensen dat stukje software in hun tijdcode setup. djDecks is echter een fors beetje duurder geworden door de "overname" van PCDJ en kost nu een paar keer zoveel. Kan dat nou niet anders? Ja dat kan en nog op een veel goedkopere manier ook. Er is namelijk een stukje open source software genaamd mixxx en dat is gratis.

Mixxx is een stukje open source software welke draait op Linux, OS-X en Windows. Oftewel op zo'n beetje alle gangbare systemen en het mooie ervan is dat het je helemaal niets kost. Daarnaast is het project voor de 2 keer geaccepteerd bij de Google summer of code en dus word het wel lekker door ontwikkeld. Een cheap ass tijdcode vinyl oplossing kan nu dus ook echt cheap ass met gratis software en ondanks dat het gratis is en niet bulkt van de features vind ik de lay-out heerlijk kinderlijk simpel.

Eigenlijk een heel interessant stukje software dus. Als het echt zo goed werkt als dat het er uit ziet volgens de specs dan is dit naar mijn mening HET alternatief voor de mensen met een budget. Zodra ik weer een beetje tijd heb (eerst nog een bulk reviews schrijven) komt er absoluut een tutorial voor dit stukje software in combinatie met tijdcode vinyl/cd's. Ik denk dat ik de uitdaging maar eens ga zoeken in een compleet goed werkend systeem met enige kwaliteit, multi OS, onder de 175 euro inclusief vinyl + cd's en geluidskaart.
