Native Instruments introduces a new kind of audio interface: high-end, professional sound quality, versatile connections, advanced controller functions and a compact and sturdy design – these are the hallmarks of Audio Kontrol 1. And it is these characteristics that make this audio interface the first choice for producers, musicians and DJs. Also included are 3 full versions of Native Instruments software – ensuring you can start creating sounds and mixing tracks instantly.Sonic Specialities
The new Audio Kontrol 1 is a high-end audio interface. Offering crystal-clear 192 kHz, 24 bit-quality, it is far more than just a sound card. Freely-assignable buttons and controller knob combined with advanced MIDI and key command functionality grant full control of software applications - setup files for popular programs ensure it's hassle-free. Audio Kontrol 1 merges innovation and quality and does so with an ear for practicality.Universal Appeal
Audio Kontrol 1's adaptability makes it the perfect audio interface for musicians, producers and DJs. Versatile connection configurations, included controller assignment preset files as well as the full versions of Xpress keyboards, Guitar combo's and Traktor 3 LE guarantee its universal appeal.

Audio Kontrol 1 sports 4 balanced outputs: the provision of both a monitor and a main mix signal as well as a headphone output with A/B source switching make it the ideal solution for DJs. The included Traktor 3 LE software paves the way for some inspired sets.Audio Kontrol 1 is ideally suited for use with DJing software. Simply connect your computer to the USB2 slot and your active monitors to Output 1 and 2. Plug your headphones into the dedicated slot on the front panel. By using the Source Switch, you can listen to the Outputs 1 and 2 or to the Outputs 3 and 4 with your headphones allowing you to cue (prelisten) in your next track as well as monitor the current track.
Alternatively, Audio Kontrol 1 can also be used with a digital DJ system configured with an external mixer. Connect the Audio Kontrol’s output 1 and 2 with your mixer's first stereo input pair and outputs 3 and 4 with the second stereo input pair. And you're good to go!
Hands-on Control of your Decks
Various functions of Traktor 3 LE or other applications can be assigned to controlled by the Audio Kontrol 1's three buttons and one knob. As the buttons and knob can also be used in combination with one another, up to 10 parameters can be controlled.Example for Traktor 3 LE: The control knob is assigned to the volume fader of Traktor 3 LE's main output. By clicking and holding the left button and turning the control, the volume of the left deck can be adjusted. Similarly the voluem of the right deck can be adjusted by using the control knob with the right button pressed. Alternatively the pitch of the 2 decks could be adjusted in much the same manner.
Simultaneously, the buttons can be used to control play and cue of the two decks, again in combination with the left and right buttons to define which decks is to be affected.
Audio Kontrol 1 offers three buttons and a controller knob on the hardware's top panel. Using the included mapping software, you can assign any key command or MIDI message to actions performed with these elements. This turns Audio Kontrol 1 into a versatile controller that allows you to 'touch' your software, be it one of the included Native Instruments applications, your favorite sequencer, your graphics software or other media applications such as Winamp™ or iTunes™.
All Mapped Out
The integrated mappng software makes assigning software parameters to the control elements parfticularly easy. User-defined assignments can be saved, allowing you to create specific set-ups for all your applications and recall them at any time. An especiallly useful feature is the "modifier" function which essentially turns the buttons into shift or ctrl-buttons, allowing you to manipulate up to 10 parameters using just the four control elements.Assignment Examples
