Cortex HDC-01 en HDC-02 update

Afgelopen week berichten we al eerder over het merk Cortex, ik had er nog nooit van gehoord en ik denk velen met mij. Ik heb echter meer info over de HDC-01 en HDC-02 weten te vinden.

Leuke van de apparaten is dat ze niet met de standaard media werken zoals een CD of een DVD maar de consoles werken met alles waar een USB aansluiting op zit. Ook heb ik eindelijk de website van Cortex gevonden waar meer info mop terug te vinden is.

Cortex caused a bit of a stir amongst folks with DJ inclinations. Their new HDC-01 Dual Digital Music Controller gives DJs the power to manipulate digital music files lusing the DSP on-board the unit. What this effectively means is that you can now pitch and beat match MP3 files from a dedicated hardware DJ controller – without the need for a computer. The HDC-01 has a USB connection which takes any USB mass storage device – including the iPod, CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives and you cue up, play, and manipulate tracks from music collections stored on these devices.


This unit is designed to bring together all the nessecary features to make pure MP3 Djing a real possibility. As of now, there’s no price fixed – one of the purposes of the show was to talk to dealers and DJs to get an idea of all that stuff but expect it to be announced very soon.

• Main Features Library Cataloging
  Music libraries on compatible devices are automatically cataloged upon connection.
• Search Options
  The cataloging system gives you a number of browsing options, including Search by Artist, Song Title, and Genre.
• Play Screen
  The main playback screen displays all the essentials including artist, track title, time elapsed, and time remaining.
• Song Info
  The user can get info on any track in the catalog, showing everything from artist and track title to the file format, genre, or length of the track.
• File Explorer Mode
  The file explorer allows users to browse through files and directories in the same way they would on a computer.
• Storage Device Selection
  When multiple storage devices are connected, different ports can be recognized at any given time through the device selection option.
• Cue Point Management
  Cue points are easily set and programmed to memory utilizing the front-located CUE button.
• Performance Protection
  Each digital music controller features protection from accidental shutdown or track interruption while playing.
