Livid Ohm64 customizer

Iets wat 5 jaar geleden zo goed als onmogelijk was is vandaag de dag eigenlijk niet zo heel erg bijzonder meer, het customizen van je dj gear. Met de hulp van fabrikanten zoals Styleflip is een eigen design zo ergens overheen geplakt en geef je je stukje dj gear een hele eigen look. Toch is het customizen op die manier niet veel meer dan een beetje knip en plakwerk in een iets hogere vorm dan we ooit op de basisschool geleerd hebben.

Echt customizen is vaak alleen voor behouden aan de mensen die weten hoe een schroevendraaier werkt... behalve bij Livid want daar kun je je Ohm64 fabrieksaf laten voorzien van een persoonlijk design. Een ander kleurtje deckplate? Witte leds in plaats van blauwe? Of misschien een groen behuizing? Het zijn allemaal zaken die tot de mogelijkheden behoren. Last week we introduced the Ohm64 customizer. This simple web-based Flash application lets you style and customize your own Ohm64 with over 100 different combinations. We’ve always thought of our hardware as “instruments,” and an important difference between instrument and “control surface,” is that an instrument accommodates different styles and use. We obviously back that up with technology, but, since style is something that is of high importance to us (and probably you if you are reading this), we have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make controller customization as part of our assembly line (see the “meet your makers” blog post to see  the people making your controllers”).
