EKS Otus raw

EKS, het finse bedrijf wat we kennen van de XP5, XP10 en Otus controllers komt met een "nieuwe" versie van de Otus genaamd Otus Raw. De Otus raw was al een 1,5 jaar geledern aangekondigd maar of het apparaat er nu ook echt een keer zou gaan komen was lange tijd onduidelijk. Meerdere prototypes zijn de revue gepasseerd maar nu is er dan eindelijk de definitieve versie van de Otus raw. Een versie die waarschijnlijk iets meer mensen aan zal spreken.

De nieuwe Otus heeft namelijk geen touch sensitive pitch fader meer maar een normale pitch slider, daarnaast zijn de touch sensitive buttons welke we op de "oude" Otus tegen kwamen verdwenen en vervangen door 4 normale buttons. Wanneer de Otus raw exact gereleased zal gaan worden is niet duidelijk, ergens deze lente volgens het persbericht. Over een prijs is ook nog weinig bekend, verwachting is echter dat deze door het onttbreken van de touch sensitive onderdelen wel iets lager uit zal gaan vallen. Of er nu wel of geen geluidskaart in de Otus raw zit is niet bekend.

As with all EKS controllers, the Otus RAW will boast a future proof control ideology that makes the Otus RAW the most highly configurable controller for DJs today and for many years to come.

"The concept for the Otus RAW was simple: take feedback from the world’s most well respected DJs on the original Otus and incorporate it into the design of Otus RAW,” commented Sulevi Seppänen, EKS’ Sales Director. “The original Otus is still one of the finest controllers on the market, but we realize that some DJs prefer the physical control of a SL-turntable-style slider as opposed to a touch sensitive slider. Between the Otus RAW and the original Otus, I believe our engineers have created two of the marquee controllers on the market today.”

The Otus RAW will be available for sale this spring; pricing has not been set at this time.
