Denon DN-HS5500 EOL

Denon kwam vandaag met nieuws waar ik persoonlijk niet echt op gerekend had, de Denon DN-HS5500 welke nog niet eens zo heel erg gek lang op de markt is word End Of Life verklaard oftewel hij word uit het assortiment gemikt. Reden? Tegenvallende verkoop cijfers en het vooruitzicht dat die op korte termijn niet hard aan zullen trekken, helemaal niet nu de S3700 er is (want dat is gewoon een betere speler) en de komst van nieuwe producten in de toekomst die de HS5500 helemaal zullen doen verbleken.

Unfortunately, yes... The rumor is true. As of 3/31/2009, production of the DN-HS5500 has concluded. Although the product enjoyed its successes, those achievements can only be deemed as adequate in the grand scheme of today's market place. We are well aware of its popularity and how it helped forge the transition and convergence of CD media and PC-based performance for DJ's, club and mobile. And more over its generous list of features are still ideal in the market place for DJ's wanting to make that media jump. But the current conditions and slow adoption of this technology have forced us to focus on the future.

So ultimately, the decision to halt production and divert those resources to the new technologies and products on the horizon was made, and frankly, is a far greater investment - for you and for us.

However, there is plenty of stock out there at authorized Denon DJ dealers for those of you considering the HS5500, and just like every other product from Denon DJ, it is fully-warranted and we will stand behind it as we always do. If you have considered this great product and the opportunity to purchase one (or two - take advantage of the Denon Link media share feature!) is available, the product is backed by us and now is the time to do so!

Zoals het er nu voor staat blijft de HS5500 in Europa voorlopig wel leverbaar,  daarnaast kregen we het nieuws dat de HC4500 na de zomervakantie geleverd gaat worden met de nieuwe Traktor LE (geen PCDJ software meer dus) en dat de X1700 waarschijnlijk in Juli dit jaar nog op de markt zal komen.
